Dear Brother Jerome:
CHniSTIAIM
B nOTHERS
Mr. Manning is one of the most highly respected teachers at the Academy. His unique, excitable style and his genuine concern for his students earns him this year’s Distinguished LaSallian Educator Award. But, beyond the pomp and glitter of this award dwells a truly remarkable human being. None o f his students have ever failed to gain something from his instruction; they have all increased in both knowledge and wisdom. Sooner or later, everyone suc cumbs to his classroom antics and learns to respect him for the gifts that he offers us.
Who can ignore his characteristic walk, his military style, or his collection of odd sayings and quirks.^ How will we ever forget Whatsamatta U, Joe Gufar2nik, or foot odor among the Armenians.^ "The dumbest guy in the school” will be remembered by us all long after we graduate, simply because he is a symbol of what CBA stands for and what it tries to teach. Mr. Manning has found a niche in his students’ hearts because he is a special part of the CBA that we know and love.
So, as this school year draws to a close, and as the Class of 1989 journeys on, and as the rest of us move a step closer to gradu ation, we find it fitting to give a special teacher our recognition and our heartfelt thanks. To honor the man who, above all else, has helped us to grow and mature into responsible persons, we, the 1988-89 Year book staff wish to dedicate this yearbook to Mr. Manning and to extend our best wishes to him and to his family.
