To the Class of 1970:
It has been said that never in our history have we stood in such desperate need of men of intelligence, imagination and courage. I might add from a Christian point of view that never in our history have we stood in such desperate need of men of faith.
The men the world needs today are those whose faith enables them to see that the totality of creation, with Christ at its center, is ordered to God.
As graduates of Christian Brothers Academy, you carry forth the faith which will enable you to evaluate everything in this world in the light of the Gospel. You are the men of intelligence, imagination and courage who can be sensitive to the prob lems which exist in the world today, who can help those struggling to free them selves from misery and hunger, who can lead the human community in recognition of the value of the person.
May your confidence in Christ grow ever deeper.
