Girls' Varsity
Basketball
Best Season Ever
The '96-'97 Girls' Varsity Basketball team
has had the best season in the history of CBA
girls' basketball. We started with a 7-0 record
before our first loss to ES-M, a Class A Team,
in the ES-M Holiday Tournament. Our record
is indicative of a solid team effort by our seven
seniors and four underclassmen. With four
games remaining, we are assured of the first
"winning” season for the CBA girls and the
possibility of finishing second in our league.
Our current record of 12-4 has guaranteed us
a spot in sectionals for only the second time in
CBA girls' basketball history.
The efforts and success of the team are the
direct result of the time, knowledge, and en­
thusiasm demonstrated by head coach Gina
Burrows and first year assistant coach Peter
Belle. Also, the senior leadership of captains
Lindsay Leone, Vicky Perkins, and Erin Sorrell
helped to keep the team focused and together
during a long season.
