The 1997 CBA Varsity Football team began working together early in the summer. Weight lifting, camps, pass ing leagues, and captain’s practices filled the schedules of most of the players. It was this dedication and hard work that produced the greatest team in school history.
The Brothers cruised through the regular season and the beginning of the playoffs averaging more than 50 points per game. Then came the thrilling victory over rival Dolgeville to capture the Section 3 Championship, thefirst in school history. The team refused to settle, how ever, and went on to defeat heavily favored Walton and
Caledonia Mumford.
The pinnacle of the season was the State Championship
game. Although the Brothers came up short, losing to Dover in double overtime, they proved themselves wor thyof their great success. This team and their accomplish ments will be remembered for years to come.
