Cheerleaders
C heerleading is a sport that often goes unre cognized as being a true
athletic sport. The truth is that Cheerleading is a lot of hard work and effort. Learning rou tines, practicing, building up stamina are all parts of being a cheerleader. Of course a bit of spirit is also a part of par ticipating in this sport. The C B A varsity cheerleaders have a few cheerleaders that have been on the team since they were in ninth grade. They are seniors Kim Popyk and Christie
Bravos. Lori Tornabene, anoth
er veteran, has been a member since she was in seventh grade. Kristen Tucci also holds this to be true. Because of the team’s past experience and the fact that they have members that "know their stuff’’ the CBA cheerleaders not only tap into C B A fans at games but they also do extordinarily well at cheerleading and dance com petitions. They have won awards in cheering at a few competitions. Hopefully they will again this year at com petitions in March.
