Student Senate
The officers elected for the 1991-92 school year were as follows.- President Jeremy Bialek, VP John Judge. Sec retary Bo Bigelow, and Treasurer Gregg Brandt. They promised more dances, dress down days, a freshman/ sophomore semi-formal, and more Jr. High involvement. Immediately following their election by one of the clos est margins ever (16 votes), the officers began lobbying for students’ privileges and were successful in earning the students dress down through final exam week. The Student Senate then sponsored three dances through the months of October and November. More impor tantly, a profit of nearly $700 was made on the first two dances. (Money hadn’t been made on a dance in years.) Homecoming proved to be a smashing success for the senate, including a king and queen parade at half-time of the football game, the first bonfire suc cessfully lit in four years, and an enjoyable dance fol lowing the game. The Junior High was allowed to attend the Homecoming Dance, usually reserved to only the Senior High and Winter Week, also a previously Senior High event. Much was accomplished in the 1991-92 school year and the politicians kept their promises.
