^^^^here’s something special going I on at Christian Brothers Acad- emy. This small school of about
6 0 0 students has been turning out ex ceptional graduates. The record of this school for producing doctors, lawyers, and community leaders is phenome nal. C.B.A. graduates are concerned and active citizens. What is it that happens to these students that has such a profound affect on them? Per haps it’s the dedication and care of the teachers at C.B.A. When you begin with a school founded by men who have devoted their entire lives to teaching in the LaSallian tradition you’ve already got a head start on any other school. Then look at the lay teachers. C.B.A. teachers are paid less than what public school teachers are paid. So why are they so excited about education at C.B.A.? Why are there teachers like Mr. Sacco, Mr. Manning. Dr, Uva, and Dr. Hamati who have stuck with C.B.A. for so many years? Be cause there’s something special going on at C.B.A. Notice the number of PhDs
at C.B.A. These people are capable of teaching at the college level and they’re here at C.B.A. Ask Dr. Hamati, Dr. Uva, Dr. Davis, or Dr. Dalakos why they stay at the high school level and the answer would be the same for them all: it’s because of the students. There’s something special going on at C.B.A.
This Year’s senior class is no ex ception to the long tradition of ex cellence at C.B.A. Many new student programs have been started and many old projects have been carried to new heights. The National Honor Society has started a recycling program and Environmentally Conscious Organized Students (ECOS) started in 1991. Am nesty International has started up again at C.B.A., and it’s stronger than ever. The clothing drive, food drive, and toy drive sponsored by the NHS have been amazingly successful. The seniors have been active in community service in the area, and the NHS tutoring pro gram is staffed by many concerned seniors. THERE IS DEFINITELY SOME THING SPECIAL GOING ON AT C.B.A.!
Something Special
Coming full circle, Kristen Johanns gives a lesson in governmental predictions.
