mitted to it, the under classmen played an important role in the school. The under classmen, which consisted of juniors, sophomores, and freshmen, could be seen all around the builidng socializing and relaxing in a rather tense atmosphere.
The juniors waited eagerly for the departure of the sen iors. When the seniors left, it would be up to the juniors to assume their roles as the lead ers of the school. But for the juniors, their school year was not just one of wait. Although their schedules were some what more relaxed than soph omores, they had to take the dreaded PSAT and other nu merous tests. Juniors used their free periods to either do their homework or to catch up on the day’s gossip.
In contrast to the juniors, the sophomores’ schedules al lowed for little, if any, social
changes in order to adjust.
The underclassmen, in all, prepared themselves for what could be their roles in the school next year. They under stood that with each passing year, they would reach their goal of graduating from high school. But, like the seniors be fore them, they had to follow in the same steps as their predecessors.
