MEMBERS OF THE CLASS OF 1969;
"It is the mutual duty of all to practice Christian forebearance, love, and charity towards each other."
The above quotation is not taken from a religious or spiritual source. It comes from the 1776 Virginia Bill of Rights, the precursor of the American Declaration.
The spirit of these words is very much the same as the spirit described in CBA's Student Handbook, particularly in the section on the basic philosophy of the academy. The sentiment expressed is a powerful Christian approach to living in society.
This spirit, operating within the total Christian vision of the new earth and new heaven,
can inspire each of you in your years ahead. This inspiration in your lives will help each of you to contribute to the solutions of the personal and social injustices found in our American society.
You will strengthen your Christian consciousness by maintaining an openness to the Scrip tures and the teachings of the Church, and by a study of the works of the humanists and scien~ tists, especially the behavioral scientists.
May the peace and joy of Christ be with you always.
Sincerely yours,
BROTHER DAVID DELAHANTY, F. B.C. Principal
