Junior High can be so much
fun. In fact, some members of
the junior High could stay
here forever,
A Record Being Started
Junior High is an important transitional pe
riod. Seventh and Eighth Grades were a time
for preparation for High School. Students would
be taught to strive for academic success and to
mature into young adults, junior High students
were asked to take on many responsibilities that
came with the territory.
Christian Brothers Academy began with the
Seventh Grade as of 1977. Seventh Graders en
tered the school to face six years at CBA. They
learned what every new student went through,
the rules of the school, and picked up on how
things were done. Most learned how to operate
the lockers, adjust to the period changes, and
discovered what activities were available to
them. Seventh Graders enthusiastically joined
activities to have the experience so that later
they could become club presidents and lead
ers. Most Seventh Graders were optimistic
about the future. Academically, they would ex
pand their horizons and new concepts that
would help them later on in High School.
Eighth Grade was the last year of Junior High
and of the transitional years. Eighth Graders
would graduate in June and pass on to High
School. Their whole school year was geared to
ward High School learning, so that the follow
ing year Eighth Graders were prepared to be
come Freshmen. In other activities. Eighth
Graders took time to relax in after school ac
tivities. Others would begin training for higher
levels of sports by taking them in Junior High.
Enthusiasm was high among Eighth Graders as
they faced their first graduation ceremony. And
as leaders of the Junior High, they had their
first taste of responsibility.
The Junior High had a new principal. Brother
Jerome Sullivan. The new Brother was a role
model for his students. Together the Junior High
enjoyed success in activities, academics, and
sports. Junior High was a period of learning and
discovery, the start on a long road that would
eventually lead to college.
David Viscome shows off his
new hat to the junior High
with a smile. He is always will
ing to do things to make the
day brighter for others.
Chris Bogle, David Viscome,
Scott Davis, Peter Cole, and
Fadi Ghali are camera hams.
They are very eager to show
the world their stuff.
