No one dreaded Monday morn ings more than students. For the teachers, Monday mornings marked the start of something new. All the students ever noticed were the new lessons and overdue assignments that kept piling up.
How did the teachers begin the morning? Some, like M rs. Bigelow and Brother John, turned to the Lord and prayed for His support. Others, like Mr. Ames and Mr. M oretti, frantically drank their es sential cups of coffee. Most teachers, of course, prepared the week’s lessons the Friday and/or weekend before that Monday. M r. A lbani admitted that he accomplished this while listening
(get this!) to Y94 FM on his head
phones when the Golden Oldies were played. Mrs. Plata stated that to prepare herself mentally, she curled up in a big chair, indulged herself with a huge dish of ice cream, and read the newspaper. On the other hand, some teachers did the unbe lievable to get themselves set for the week ahead. M r. Owens selected which students he would give deten
tion. M rs. V achris seriously pre pared herself for the onslaught. BrotherJerome madenotestohim self to remember important details.
W hether teachers spent time so cializing, like M r. Schnipp, or stud ying their lessons, like Dr. Davis, this article only reveals how unique each teacher was. That was something to be grateful for.
