Rich Storto belts a 400-foot homer

Heavy hitting from Rich Storto, Mike Mauer, Mike John son, Steve Quilty and fine pitching by Dave DeLucia and Frank Leonardi, as well as outstanding fielding by Bart Carrigan, Bob Stummer and catcher Paul Abt en abled C.B.A. to post its first undefeated season in league his tory.
The team, led by Coach Powers and Moderator Brother Philip, overpowered
league competition, amassing scores such as 3-0 and 5-1 against Fulton, 8-0 against Nottingham, 9-0 against Ludden, and 9-2 and 13-3 against Henninger.
In the season’s finale, C.B.A. de feated a strong Pa- rochial League Champion, St. John the Evangelist, and thus gained the All- City Crown. The en tire starting nine re ceived All-City hon ors with three sen iors, Rich Storto, Dave DeLucia, and Bart Carrigan win ning berths on the first team.
