FROM THE DESK OF THE EDITOR:
I suppose there is a time in the composing of every yearbook, when the staff can no longer stop the editor from sounding off, so here it comes.
This being the first CBA yearbook, I cannot say that it is the greatest yet in an old and distinguished line. All I can say is that I hope that Academy ’67 will compare favorably with subsequent yearbooks, and that it will be worthy of being Volume I.
I will not attempt to name all the people responsible for bringing Academy ’67 off the press. However, thanks are in order for the time and effort of the staff and the Taylor Publishing Company. For a good yearbook, we needed the support of the student body. We got it, and this we deeply appreciate. We also owe a special debt of gratitude to the school administration, who made the first step towards a yearbook by giving their permission for it. \
Special thanks go to Brother Malachy. When he first asked me about being editor, he said, “Why don’t you try it—I don’t know any more about it than you do.” He was wrong. He has a vast store of knowledge about the art of composing a yearbook, and we relied greatly upon him, right from the theme pages to the last senior picture.
In the first CBA yearbook I hope we have presented a true and lasting picture of Christian Brothers Academy, or at least as true as can be set down on paper. We worked long and hard to bring you Academy ’67, but it will be worth the effort if, ten or twenty years from now, it will help you to remember CBA just a bit more clearly than you would have without it.
