 Homecoming
Anticipation for the Homecoming footbaii gome against Soivay on
September 29th was aimost unbearabie. Since the Brothers had start
ed their season with three consecutive victories over Canastota, in-
dian River, and Westhiii, the CBA student body's schooi spirit was fly
ing high. Homecoming Week was similiar to past years with Tacky
Day, Hat Day and, of course, on Friday, we were allowed to wear
whatever we wanted. However, we had to wear a streak of our own
grade's designated color. The last day of Homecoming Week rushed
by, and air of excitement prevailed in the halls. Teachers were slightly
more laid back, realizing we were all more anxious to start the week
end than to concentrate on taking notes. Although our pep rallies in
the past have been too brief, everyone quickly got fired up to show
support for the Brothers that evening, especially after a cameo ap
pearance by Andy Grady.
By kickoff, Alibrandi Stadium was packed with fans from CBA and
Soivay, and parking was scarce. Our first touchdown was scored by
David Hancock eight minutes into the game. However, Soivay
caught up shortly after that. Junior Mike Masucci scored the second
touchdown, and senior Jamie Thornton followed with another. How
ever, Soivay held their own and the game kept everyone's interest.
The final score was 21-12, another victory for the Brothers. Afterwards,
most of the highschool students headed to the school for our tradi
tional Homecoming Dance, happy to celebrate a successful Home
coming.
