studying for the SAT is a very
time consuming process.
Mary Gorman and Lesiie
Barnes have SAT prep work
to contend with when they
finish their homework.
Standardized
Tests
What does it feel like to see a life affecting ordeal staring you in the
face? Seniors know; Juniors will know in just a few more months. Before
you know it, everything you've ever worked for centers around a TEST,
The biggest test of your life: the SAT's.
There's very little you can do in the way of preparation. Though some
spend time, money, and energy on prep courses of any kind, most just
pick up a practice booklet in the Guidance office. The night before, it's
generally a good idea to stay in since you have to get up when its still
dark on a SATURDAY, Some don't bother, though, and figure if you're
going down, go down with flying colors.
The test itself is long, a total of four hours, and by the time you shakily
walk to your car at the end of the ordeal your brain is completely fried.
But the worst part of this whole process is the waiting — seven weeks until
you see your scores. When they finally arrive, you either feel like a ton of
bricks is lifted off your shoulders or you bear a much heavier weight —
you have to do drastically better next time.
Having a friend’s heip dur
ing SAT time can be an as
set. Whenever Beth Paitone
needs a hand she can at-
ways count on Nicoie Le-
Beau.
