Weekends
A Time to Relax??
If there is anyone who sincerely deserves a break. It's a junior. It's getting
to the point where weekends are no longer enough time off — especially
if you were counting on catching up on sleep. From the moment school
gets out on Friday at 2:35, you're on the go. First there's the afternoon
practice but it's cutting it too close with work. So you only do about 75
mph on the way to Wegmans, but the cops are having a bad day. After
you leave work and your furious manager, your parents tell you that they're
going out so you're stuck with babysitting your kid sister and Barbie until
you fall asleep in front of fhe T.V. Sis gets into mommy's good jewelry and
loses her gold bracelet. You can scratch that Saturday night party. Sat­
urday morning, however, starts at eight and you're at work at nine. Af­
ternoon comes and so does practice until you get home just in time to
have missed dinner. Since you're grounded, you start your homework early
and upon doing so you find out that you forgot everything you thought
you remembered to learn while napping in math. After calling around and
finding someone fo re-teach if to you, you fall asleep while still on the first
problem. The next morning you go to mass at nine and out to breakfast
with the family. Then you need to pick up another binder for school. After
lunch, you have work followed by dinner, followed by homework, followed
by Monday morning and homeroom where you were going to finish the
math but wouldn't you know it, there's a liturgy. Finally you'll get some
