The Light at the End of the
Tunnel
Seventh Grade is not an easy grade. Just when grammar school
was bearable, junior high is thrown in your face. Fear comes to some
minds, while others just dread it more than anything. Thoughts such
as forgetting your locker combination, schedule, and where you’re
supposed to be going, often come to mind that horrid first day. The
most awkward feeling for most is not knowing most everyone there.
For some it seems life couldn’t possibly get worse.
As the months fly off the calendar, this place, C.B.A., doesn’t seem
so bad after all. Alright, homework is a bit much to handle, but it is
tolerable. Lockers open with ease, friends are made for life, and the
direction you’re headed in is the right one. School is just school, and
life is okay.
The year ends, and most come out of it alive and well. Some are
even happy. The fears are gone, and are laughed at. Some ask, "Did
I really feel and act like that?’’ Yes, we all did, and do.
