A Home Run Season
Varsity baseball last spring had a very good year. They won the
metro league in its last year of existence. Led by the strong arm of
Nick DiVeronica and Garret DeGroot and the hot bats of Paul Ci-
ciarelli and Jeff Harrigan, the Brothers went on to win the class C-2
championship before losing to Loweville. A strong underclass also
made the Brothers a tough team to beat last season.
This coming season looks promising. There is a lot of talent re
turning from last season and even more is expected to come in from
the JV team. The pitching staff will be rebuilding with only one true
starter, Garret DeGroot. Dan Glover, Brian Bruno, and Dan Pickard
will have to step it up to provide some relief. The Brothers high-
powered offense and good defense should make them a very com
petitive team this season. Last season Jeff Tornabene made a lot of
things happen. If some more playmakers emerge from the JV team,
I feel the Brothers can win the league again.
