“Did I Miss Anything?”
Usually, there is at least one teacher in
our lives who makes us laugh. But, did you
ever stop to think if we, the students, make
our teachers laugh? We decided to ask
some of the teachers about this, and we
received a variety of answers.
Sometimes the funniest things come
from those who don’t know much about
the school — the seventh graders. Many
junior high teachers can recall times when
their new students have asked very inter
esting questions about some facet of the
school. Mrs. Irwin remembers one seventh
grader especially. After only one month of
being at CBA, this student asked her if it
was okay to use the back set of stairs, be
cause he thought the students could only
use the front ones.
However, humor does not only come
stupidity as well. Some questions are so
simple and stupid that they can make you
laugh when you really think about them.
Dr. Davis had heard three such phrases
from the mouths of his students: “I’ve been
out for three days. Did I miss anything?’’
(No, of course not. We only took a trip to
Bolivia.) “Will this count?” (No, I just
thought it would be lots of fun to take a
test.) “Am I ever going to use this?” (No,
your parents are spending thousands of
dollars at this school so you can learn
needless information.)
As you can see, you don’t need to be the
class clown to amuse one of your teachers.
And, for those of you who are class
clowns, I hope you can see that there are
some teachers out there who just might en

from ignorance. It often comes from sheer
joy your humor.
