“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we all going direct the other way.”* Because of the hard work and dedication of the entire Yearbook Staff, it is with great pride and dignity that I present to you Christian Brothers Academy’s
2000-2001 Centennial Celebration Yearbook.
I have had the privilege these past six
years of not only being a member of the yearbook staff, but also being honored by undertaking the position of Editor-in-Chief. As a graduating senior of CBA, I have learned many things and seen many changes. To every senior it is apparent that, looking back, high school is a critical crucible where people are falsely made Kings and are falsely made Peons. Looking back, many will joke of the numerous cliques and social rules that seemed to determine our every action in our CBA society. In spite of this, it is important to know that our true core personality was forged in the LaSallian tradition during our years at Christian Brothers Academy. What started six years ago as a rabble of 100 plus students has solidified into one student body. Looking back, ten years from now, I believe in my heart of hearts that everyone will immediately feel the pride of Purple and Gold the instant the name Christian Brothers Academy enters their mind.
To my fellow graduating seniors, the future is ours. To those we leave behind, make of it what you want. For me, “It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known.”*
