“Speak to the Earth, and it shall
teach thee.”
-job 12:8
What is the Earth but an orb travelling through the heavens? What are the stars but twinkling baubles, seemingly devoid of meaning? They are much more for us, for we are the scholars, the hunters of wisdom, the dreamers.
We tread upon this Earth, eat upon it, drink upon it, laugh upon it, and cry upon it. We spend our lives here, we fall in love here, and we die here. In this age, through our sins of pollution and destruction, we are finally beginning to see the effect we have on the Earth. Yet we have not yet begun to delve into the Earth’s effect on us. As we pray for wisdom, we ignore the humble Earth’s bountiful offerings.
In high school and throughout life, we look for answers: answers to homework questions, answers to problems, answers to life. We dig deep, searching
the depths of human knowledge. Yet perhaps it is all so much
simpler than we believe. Perhaps the answers to all of our
questions are in the faces around us, in the blades of grass the
blow in the wind, in every moonbeam and sunrise. Maybe if we
all spent a little more time listening to the morning dewdrops,
then everything would be alright.
As for the stars, they are everything to us. They are the lights that guide us, the heights we strive for, and the fates that smile upon us.
Students and faculty of CBA, may you bless the Earth a always give thanks for its beauty and wisdom; may you follow your own star and to your own self be forever true; may you fine your place among the stars, and remember always the star yoi are; and finally, may the stars and heavens alike bless all of us
The cheerleaders have found happiness in bringing excitement to athletic events and their own competition.
