Mr. Sacco Honored With Teacher of the Year Award
Mr. Frank Sacco was honored as the recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award by
Syracuse University on September 13, 2003. Brother Thomas Zoppo nominated Mr. Sacco because he felt he possessed all the qualities and characteristics of an outstanding teacher. During the SU football game, Mr. Sacco was presented with an engraved glass plaque that rea "Teacher of the Year/' and an autographed football.
After receiving his B.A. from LeMoyne College, his M.A. from Syracuse University, and his M.Ed. from Boston College, Mr. Sacco joined the faculty at Christian Brothers Academy. \ has been teaching here for thirty-seven years and is presently the Social Studies Department Chair. Feeling that CBA had a strong academic program and was very well known in Syracuse Mr. Sacco decided that he wanted to be a part of its teaching and religious community. When asked why he wanted to become a teacher he responded, "I have always loved history and wh you could learn from history. I wanted to share that with people.'' The hardest aspect of his job, he feels, is seeing students struggle, but knowing they are trying hard to understand the concepts. Mr. Sacco stated, "The most rewarding part of my job is watching the light go on'ir students' minds." He thoroughly enjoys seeing his students go on and succeed in life.
