Gettysburg
As each school year begins, every eighth grader thinks about the upcoming Gettysburg trip because it's the highlight of the year. This year's trip included a lot of fun all led by our great teacher Ms. Bush. It started with the stop in Harrisburg to the National Civil W ar museum. After continuing on to Gettysburg, we checked into the hotel then walked to the All Star Family Fun Complex where we ate dinner, used the arcade, and played soccer, volleyball, and basketball. After returning to the hotel, many people went swimming, while others just hung out in the rooms. W e had to be back in our rooms by 10:00, where we could do anything but sneak out.The chaperones made sure of that!
The next morning we were up at 6:00 AM. After breakfast, we toured the battefields and went to the Visitors Center, w here w e saw the presentation of the electric map. It seems like all of us fell asleep during this thrilling production in spite of Ms. Bush’s warnings that w e w ere going to be quizzed on it the following Monday. After touring more battlefields, we were allowed to roam around the town of Gettysburg with our friends; our favorite part! As all good things must come to an end, we finally had to get on the buses to go back to Syracuse. However, we have a weekend ofgreat memories to cherish forever!
Mia Legg, Tina Cherney, Kellie Scull.n and Ms. Bush are a lil' scared of the ereat Civil W ar hauntings.
Kathleen Zazzara really enjoys those long bus rides.
