 Music! Music! Music!
Band
Years ago, Christian Brothers Academy had an award-winning band. Then, the tra dition ceased and the halls of CBA were without music. This silence ended in 1986 with the arrival of Mr. Robert Caraher. Changes in regents requirements forced CBA to offer a music appreciation course. An added benefit was the start o f the band.
The band is now an important part of the CBA community. This collection of wood wind, brass and percussion instruments performs at football games, pep rallies. Honors Night, Graduation and its own concerts. It experiments with different types of music, from popular songs to Christmas carols to marches. A separate jazz ensemble has also been formed. Al
though there were not many performances this year, the stage has been set for a new tradition of music at CBA in the future.
