FRESHMEN ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
New students must fill out the application for admission and the Freshman Academic Scholarship Application and and have all transcripts and and test scores on file with the Office of Admissions prior to December 1 A A minimum composite ACT score of 21 and a a a minimum cumulative GPA of 3 0 0 on on a a a 4 0 0 scale are required to be considered for academic scholarship assistance The Office of of Financial Aid will review the GPA of of each student awarded a a a a a a Freshman Academic Scholarship in the the fall/spring semesters of their freshman year to ensure they meet scholarship requirements If you are below the the required GPA after the the first semester you will have the the spring semester to achieve the required GPA with their cumulative GPA After the the the first year the the the student’s cumulative GPA will be checked each semester to determine if the the the student has met the the the criteria for the the the scholarship You must also successfully complete
a a a minimum of 24 credit hours in in in the fall and spring semesters excluding courses taken at institutions other than Washburn Washburn University University Washburn Washburn University University Institute ofTechnology courses courses and graduate courses courses If you are below the necessary GPA or credit hour requirements due to extenuating circumstances you can appeal the the decision to the the Scholarship Committee online at Washburn edu/financial-aid-forms These scholarships are reserved for undergraduate students only Scholarships are awarded in the fall unless otherwise stated and amounts range from $500 to $5 $5 000 per year for students enrolled full-time Awards may be renewed for up to eight (8) consecutive undergraduate semesters Note: Meeting these criteria does not guarantee a a a a a scholarship The following charts provide guidelines for scholarship consideration Freshman Academic Scholarship Grid*
