Obviously, you are not allowed to walk into an airport with your firearm concealed, even if you’re just picking up a family member in baggage claim. However, you are allowed to travel with a firearm as long as you follow a few simple rules. I will discuss this topic in more detail in a later section.
Prohibited Area # 15 - Places Prohibited by Federal Law
F.S. 790.06 (12)(a) 15. Any place where the carrying of firearms is prohibited by federal law.
This would include a military base, post office, courthouse, Social Security office, IRS building, federal property and other areas. Believe it or not, the federal government doesn’t make it very easy to determine where it prohibits the possession of firearms. Common sense should prevail and use caution.
