Director’s Note
After two years away from the beautiful Gusman Concert Hall, we are so excited to be back. Our students have missed performing in this wonderful hall, and we are so happy that you are here to enjoy their hard work. COVID has really been a struggle for our performing ensembles. We have needed to reinvent our curriculum and how we deliver the information, as well as how we receive musical assignments.
We are glad that is almost over, and we are here again to entertain you. Your children have been the most resilient of us all. They have worked through almost two years of COVID mitigations just to be able to create music. We couldn’t be more proud of them.
As we enter the holiday season, we have to always give thanks to those who have helped us continue to thrive. Our Administration team has been there throughout this pandemic, helping us meander through all of these ever changing times.
We appreciate what they have done to allow us to continue to learn and perform. Our concert here tonight is a tribute to the hard work our team has done to allow these beautiful children to perform for you tonight.
Throughout this year we have been working on putting everything we once had back together again. Humpty Dumpty is being put back together as we speak. Our students have been there, eager to learn, and ready to perform at the drop of
a hat. Our Jazz Band and Chamber Strings have performed for several open houses for our admissions team, and our chorus has been working on many individual solos, and duets for their class projects. The band students were even allowed to perform in person for our solo music performance assessments this year. Let's hope we can keep this moving forward.
We want to wish everyone the happiest of holidays, and the best New Year.
We hope that this wonderful concert tonight will start your season with a smile on your face, a feeling of happiness, and the warmth of family and friends around you.
