    May 18: 412th TW vice commander completes ‘fini flight’
Col. Randel Gordon, the 412th Test Wing Vice Commander, conducted his “fini-flight” (final flight at Edwards) yesterday, May 18, 2022. His wife, Tiffany, was on hand to marshal in his F-16D, while his friends and colleagues properly congratulated him by spraying him down.
May 22: Healing & Honor Field open to public
The Palmdale Healing and Honor Field opened to the public at Pelona Vista Park in Palmdale. The Field was open until Memorial Day on May 30. The 1,000 flags create a massive vista of red, white and blue that honor serve or have served in the U.S. military, law enforcement, fire/ EMT or medical personnel.

June 9: Roc completes sixth flight test
Reaching an altitude of 15,000 feet, the flight focused on continuing Roc’s flight envelope expansion with the recent addition of the pylon on the aircraft’s center wing. The pylon, comprised of a mini-wing and adapter, will be used to safely carry and release reusable, rocket- powered Talon-A hypersonic vehicles.
June 16: Roc reaches new heights
Just seven days after its previous flight test, Stratolaunch’s Roc carrier aircraft flew its seventh test flight reaching an altitude of 27,000 feet. The seventh flight focused on continuing Roc’s flight envelope expansion with the recent addition of the pylon on the aircraft’s center wing.
June 23: Orange Flag executes largest all-domain test focused on infrared spectrum
Orange Flag, Air Force Test Center’s all-domain, large-force test series focused on advanced technology, kill-web integration and analysis, returned for its second iteration this year at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. June 23. Forty-one airborne participants used the R-2508 Range and Sea Test Range to execute simultaneous participant objectives, comprising 23 separate test events. AFTC’s Multi-Domain Test Force led the effort to resource, organize, and align the Test Flag Enterprise, to include Orange Flag, Emerald Flag, and Black Flag. The Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Space Force and multiple civilian Research and Development agencies participated.
June 27: A-10 Thunderbolt IIs conduct ACE training on Rog- ers Dry Lake Bed
The 412th Operations Support Squadron hosted four A-10 Thunderbolt IIs from the 355th Wing out of Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz., to conduct ACE training.
     June 27: Edwards AFB STEM completes PRIME algebra pilot test flight
Edwards Air Force Base STEM recently hosted 27 students in a first- ever pre-algebra summer program for local students at Blackbird Airpark in Palmdale, Calif. The program is called Promoting Relevance and Interest in Mathematic Experiences, or PRIME, and was designed to prepare students for high school Algebra.
      June 29: 412th Test Wing reactivates 445th Test Squadron
The 445th Test Squadron was reactivated during a ceremony at Edwards AFB. The squadron’s primary mission will be the Joint Simulation Environment which will provide a state-of-the-art modeling and simulation environment to conduct fifth-generation and next-generation developmental test, operational test, and high-end advanced training and tactics development for the warfighter.
