Protecting the safety and wellbeing of our people
Planning for the safety and wellbeing of staff was (and remains) paramount and a number of site specific measures were put in place to safeguard individuals and teams, including:
• One-way systems introduced
• Changes made to entry and exiting of sites
• Social distancing protocols explained and
reinforced
• Hygiene practices enhanced
• Limiting site access - anyone who could
work from home did so
• Changes to canteen facilities
• Perspex dividers introduced
• PPE supplied
• Signage and information placed around the
buildings
• Contact Track & Trace procedure introduced
Mental wellbeing was also a key consideration. We developed a range of resources to help individuals navigate their way through everyday challenges in their new environments, stressing that we encourage everyone, including managers, to share how they are feeling and to speak up if they needed support. We also have sign posting for anyone who requires additional information and support services.
Keeping spirits up during Covid-19
In recognition of the ongoing support of our staff during these uncertain times, different engagement activities occurred across our manufacturing sites. From Fruit Friday’s and Weekly Thank You’s to Bake Off’s and Burger Days, the teams demonstrated their appreciation for the unwavering commitment of their supply chain colleagues. A number of cake, bun and chocolate giveaways also went down a treat. Thank you to everyone who participated and lived our Spirit values.
