NOMINATED CHARITIES UPDATE
The last few months have been challenging for society at large and there have been numerous examples of how staff have demonstrated their community spirit by actively engaging with nominated charity initiatives.
The Bottlegreen production site raised £114.20 for their nominated charity, Longfield, with a special burger day
in June 2020. In support of National Carers Week, the team also donated bottlegreen products to Longfield’s carers’ packs, which were delivered to unpaid carers in the local community.
The Cal B site has also continued to support their local charity, Ayrshire Cancer Support. The team’s Charity Rock Night was postponed due to the pandemic so the team arranged for a local
DJ to host a Lockdown Live event on Saturday 25th July. The event was streamed
live on Facebook and WKD social media channels,
raising over £1,100 for Ayrshire Cancer Support. This superb fundraiser brings Cal B’s total to almost £4,000.

Update
The Airport Road West team took part in the Belfast virtual marathon in June. 14 colleagues signed up to walk, jog and run the 26.2 mile distance. From North Coast walks to scaling Slieve Binnian, the team clocked up over 370 miles and raised £645 for their staff nominated charity, Mindwise. In July, the team also held their first virtual Zumba event and raised over £100 for the charity. Plans are in place to host a virtual summer raffle in later this month.
In March, the Manderson House team took part in the ‘Jog On Dementia’ challenge. The aim
of the challenge was to run, jog or walk 26.2 miles during the month of March. A total of 16 employees took part and covered 420 miles, raising over £100 for their nominated charity, Alzheimer’s Society.
BPS’ Northampton site continued with clothing donations for their nominated charity, Air Ambulance, donating 180kg of clothes which equates to a £900 ‘in kind’ donation. The Chandlers Ford site also donated £200 to their nominated charity, Newfields Gardening C.I.C, with the money funding equipment repairs.
Champion a Charity
Due to the ongoing pandemic we are delaying our biennial ‘Champion our Charity’ appeal until 2021. We will therefore be extending our support to current nominated charities until the end of 2020.
