Desha Van Veldhuizen
5’10, Setter
Park Tudor High School, Coach Kirsten Edwards
Parents: David and Wendy Van Veldhuizen
Favorite Quote: “Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.”
Hobbies: Volleyball, basketball, weightlifting, watching my brothers play sports, and hanging out with friends and family. Future Plans: Play volleyball at University of West Georgia
Hero: A hero is someone that you are supposed to idealize and look up to, the person you dream to be. I could sit here and say its my parents or my grandparents and even though that was the case when I was a kid I have grown up. I still respect them but now see them more as guides of who I want to be. So my hero is just that my future self. The person that I want to be, the person I am growing into, the person who has learned my lessons, the person that has become wiser with age, the person that is stronger than who I am right now. My hero is the one that is living out my dream to play volleyball in college and I'm getting there while still trying to find my next future self, my next hero.
Favorite HS Volleyball Memory: Winning sectionals this year and making school history for winning.

Kennedy Wagaman
5’8, Outside Hitter
Sullivan High School, Coach Dillon Taylor
Favorite Quote: "It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinion, it is easy in solitude to live after our own, but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude. –Ralph Waldo Emerson
Hobbies: Volleyball, FCA, BETA club, FFA, 4-H, track, cooking, baking, singing and hanging out with friends and family Future Plans: Uncommitted but plans to play volleyball at the collegiate level
Hero: My hero is my close friend, Jeremiah Vernelson. Jeremiah passed away in the spring, unexpectedly, from spinal meningitis. He lived with passion, heart, joy, perseverance, and love. Jeremiah could make anyone laugh or smile and he lived his life with Jesus Christ in his heart. He made an impact on everyone around him and he made an impact on me. I strive to live like Jeremiah and make a positive impact on those around me.
Favorite HS Volleyball Memory: My junior year during our annual “king of the court” game to raise money for childhood cancer. We fell short but went to 5 sets and played extremely well, it was such a fun game.
