III. Types of Intellectual Property
Patent
In order for an invention to receive patent protection, it has to meet the following legal requirements:
1. The invention is new to the world.
2. The invention represents a technical advance over what was previously known (technical and non-obvious). 3. It can be made or used.
Utility models are similar to patents but the requirements are less stringent.
Trade secret
HOW TO CREATE A...?
Keeping valuable commercial information confidential with reasonable efforts is the key to have a trade secret.
Domain Names
Domain Names are unique identifiers which form the address of a web page, email mailboxes or destination on the internet. Whilst not IP per se, (as they arise by a contract with a Registrar) they often contain trademark rights or become trademarks in their own right.
