3rd Kind Dance sport Competition

General Rules:
1. Eligibility: The competition is open to all bona fide male students of JHCSC Dumingag
Campus, provided they adhere to the competition’s unique theme and guidelines.
2. Dance Styles: The competition will feature three Latin dances – Cha-Cha-Cha, Rumba,
and Jive.
3. Theme: Performances must blend standard dance techniques with fun and comedic
elements while maintaining the integrity of the selected dance styles.

Code of Conduct:
1. Lifts, head spins, and other dangerous acrobatic moves are strictly prohibited.
2. Obscene, vulgar, or inappropriate dance steps are not allowed.
3. Comedic and entertaining dance movements should be seamlessly incorporated into the
routine without overshadowing the dance discipline.
Attire:
1. Costumes should be appropriate for a Latin dance competition and aligned with the
comedic theme.
2. Revealing or inappropriate outfits will result in a deduction or disqualification.
Performance Flow:
1. Dancers must begin and end their routine with a clear and confident stance.
2. The comedic elements should be well-placed within the choreography and should not
disrupt the dance flow.
3. Excessive comedy that overshadows the dance will result in point deductions.
Additional Information:
1. The competition aims to promote a balance of skill, entertainment, and creativity while
respecting the integrity of Latin dance styles.
2. Judges’ decisions are final and binding.
3. Participants are encouraged to rehearse well to ensure a smooth and engaging
performance.

Judging Criteria:

Technique & Execution: 30%
Proper footwork, body movement, and adherence to Cha-Cha-Cha, Rumba, or
Jive fundamentals.
Choreography & Creativity: 30%
Effective blending of comedic elements without compromising dance quality.
Entertainment Value: 20%
Engagement, humor, and originality of comedic elements.
Synchronization & Coordination: 10%
Cohesion between dance partners or group members.
Overall Presentation: 10%
Costume, musicality, and stage presence.
