Malvern College recognises that children develop academically at at at very different rates and therefore we we offer four scholarships for for entry into the the Lower Sixth year group:
 The Alan Duff Scholarship for exceptional all round academic ability  The Francis Aston Scholarship for Science Candidates must commit to to studying at at least two Science subjects at at A Level Level or at at Higher Level Level IB and will be expected to take a a a a a a lead role in in scientific debate and in in co-curricular activities such as the Lucretian Society  The Malvernian Society Award specifically for external candidates entering the Sixth Form from the state sector  The Clark Scholarship is awarded in in recognition of of the outstanding contribution of of our former Headmaster and will be transformational It creates an an an opportunity for for for a a a a a a a a a pupil who is bright academically curious and enthusiastic to change their life experience through education but who is without the means to afford full school fees The Clark Scholars will be be chosen because of of their their potential to make the the the most of of their their time here Candidates are asked to write a a a a a a a a a personal statement of approximately 400 words demonstrating their their their intellectual curiosity their their their forward planning their their their determination and and application and and their academic leadership They will also write an examination in in their chosen subject as as well as as a a a a a a a a a a ‘general’ academic examination They will then nominate the the the subject in in in in which they wish to be interviewed before they they arrive for for the the the the assessment day when they they will have an interview with the the the the Headmaster a a a a a a panel interview with the the Head Head of of Department of of their chosen subject the the Head Head of of of Sixth Form The Director of of of Teaching and and Learning and and the the Head Head of of of Science (if applying for the Aston Scholarship) 11
