Susannah Watkins [FY] from No 8 is a a a a a a talented hockey goal keeper and has just been selected to play in the the U15 team for the the West Midlands Susannah has also been put forward for for selection to play for England in in in the Futures Cup against international teams The Futures Cup squads are selected in July with the tournament running in in August I’m sure you will agree this is is brilliant news and we are all very proud of her achievement Cricket With the 1st XI boys having had such a a a a a successful season it it has been great to have seen the the rest of the the teams working hard both boys and girls making good use of the new nets Boys Teams
The 2nd XI were the the ‘team of the the year’ going unbeaten throughout the season with notable wins against strong Clifton and King’s College Taunton
sides They were ably led by Will Brinkman who enjoyed runs with the bat The U14As also had a a a a successful season winning five and losing only one of their fixtures played The boys played with great spirit throughout and were very much a a a a talented all-round team with all all bases covered Highlights from the year include: Joseph Harrison 5/17 vs Repton Sam Clements 65* vs vs Rugby AJ Morris 4/16 vs vs Kings Worcester Joe Harrison 61 vs vs Bromsgrove Bromsgrove Max Hughes 6/6 vs vs Bromsgrove Bromsgrove Joseph Harrison 51 vs vs Kings Taunton
and Amaan Edavalath 5/15 vs vs Kings Taunton
The U14Bs played 4 4 lost 3 and won 1 1 Special mention has to to go to to Alfred Shute who dug the batting line-up out of trouble on on several occasions and scored two jaunty but big- hitting half centuries always with a a a a a smile on his face – which helped us us to to beat Bromsgrove and gave us us a a a a a a a a chance against Taunton
Aaron Doidge also deserves credit as the most consistent and reliable bowler The Under 15 A team made the Regional final of the 20/20 tournament Ben Clarke and Freddie Sharp look particularly good prospects and will be pushing for a a a a a 1st XI place next season season The U15B team had a a a a a a tidy season season winning half of their games Ably led led by Will Clayton the the side battled admirably in in in all their games and making the the most of defending scores that were at at times slightly under par They produced the performance of the season away at Bromsgrove where asked to chase 222 to win in in 25 overs a a superb partnership of 150 between

George Skerrett 99 and Guy Sharp 27 laid the foundations for the the win with 8 balls to to spare in in what turned out to to be the the last game of the the season And finally the the mighty 3rd XI There were some great highlights from these boys not least Cameron Smith’s swashbuckling 58 not out at Clifton Ben Myers and Abdul Lawal’s 50 stand against King’s Worcester and and and stunning one-handed catches by Archie Webb and Tanush Sanghai against the Common Room THE MALVERNIAN
