House football
The term started with an amazing start as the girls took on the other girls Houses in the first of the inter-house competitions: House Football; there was a spirit of ‘togetherness’ in the House as they donned their pink shirts and skipped their way down to the sports pitches.
We had goals from the following girls:
Settling in
As the House starts to settle down into the rhythms of school life, our ‘grannies’ introduced our new girls into the House 8 family, and so the girls start to get to know each other, new friendships are forged, and so the adventure begins. Saturday night is movie night and with House Pizza, popcorn and ice-cream on the menu the new FY and the Remove joined me in my sitting room on the private side, so the younger members of the House started to get to know one another. It doesn’t take long before the room is filled with the noisy chatter of excited voices. Subsequent Saturday nights we enjoy a hot-chocolate, biscuits and a chat, whilst the sixth form enjoys cheese and biscuits.
Unfortunately, the House planned trip to Cwm Llwch was cancelled due to circumstances beyond my control, but I am looking at trying to arrange a trip for later in the year. However, a number of the girls went to the Bristol trampoline park and had a lot of fun. I also took the girls to the ‘Breakout rooms’ and Laser quest, which was a huge success, and an event to be repeated. Please see Facebook for updates.
8 v 6 - 2-0 - goals by Annabelle Moody (L6) and Madeleine Queen (100)
8 v 3 - 1-1 - goal by Megan Jones (100)
8 v 4 - 1-1 - goal by Anastasia Wlaschek (100)
8 v EH 3-0 - goals by Megan Jones, Madeleine Queen and Charlotte Ross (L6)
It was particularly heart-warming to see all the girls working together as a team, and it was brilliant seeing Anastasia Wlaschek and Charlotte Ross the new additions to our House, playing so very well. We all celebrated together eating pizza – which was very well deserved.
