literary heritage
Dr Bradley Wells our own acclaimed international expert on the works and and lives of C S Lewis and and J R R R R Tolkien was recently approached by the BBC to to contribute to to an episode of their flagship TV programme Countryfile The The entire episode was was devoted to the the Malvern Hills Hills and Dr Wells was was interviewed on on the the literary legacy of The The Hills Hills focusing mainly on on Lewis and and and Tolkien but also going back to to the the medieval poet William Langland and and and and then through to to Evelyn Waugh and W W W H Auden In locating the the College in in in in this this legacy Dr Wells was able
to to show the the BBC that this this literary tradition continues in in in in in our our pupils today some of whom were also included with the the programme A group from our our current Literary Society and and Writing Club went up up onto the the the the Malvern Hills and and were filmed enjoying a a a a a lesson in in in in which they wrote their own original pieces If you missed the programme it is is still available on BBC iplayer YEAR IN REVIEW
