on on the Torridge He was also heavily involved with Appledore Lifeboat and Instow inshore rescue Going on on on on to work for for the National Trust at at at Montecute John excelled in in in in his passion for for growing plants and later in in in the the 1980s he he he he started a a a a a a a a a small coffee shop at at Sherborne the the Flower Barrow As his his catering business grew he he sent his his kitchens and marquees to to to to events of all all all types from agricultural shows to to to to balloon festivals tall ships to to to to motor racing as as well
as as for British Field Sports and and Countryside Alliance He He won many awards and and accolades from peers at at at the the ‘Showmans’ shows He He also featured at at at the the Festival
of Food and Farming in in Hyde Park London At 50 he took up marathon running completing Snowdonia in in 1983 and New York in in 1984 John later relocated to Portugal where with his trusty camera became well
known across the the Algarve and Alentejo He was embraced by the the the Portuguese documenting social history as as as well
as as as the the the local local election campaign local local events and and becoming a a a a a a a a a a a a a father figure with the the the Bombeiros and and special firefighting teams the the Canarinhos In the end his heart got too tired to to keep up with him He He passed away quietly at Beja hospital He He leaves
his widow Jeanette five five children children and and five five grandchildren of whom he he he was immensely proud In 2020 he he he became a a a a a great-grandfather twice Simons Richard Michael

Viner Viner had a a a a a a a a a very active life After leaving school he he he he joined Viners a a a a a a a a a a a a family business making cutlery and silverware When the company was sold he he he he set up to manufacture hot air handryers in in fin Ireland (well before Dyson) and and and and then at the the age of 60 he he he retrained as a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a financial adviser and and went on working well
into his 70s He He was was an active member of of the Sheffield Junior Chamber of of Commerce becoming its President in1964 He He was was involved involved with with The Prince’s Trust as as as as a a a a a a a mentor and adviser as as as well
as as as being involved involved with with the the Institute Institute of of Directors and the the British Institute Institute of Management He was married first to to to to Carole who died young and then to to to to Susan They later moved to to to to Kingston-on-Thames Brian
had many outside interests including croquet walking skiing which he he kept up until he he was was 78 and and and bridge He was was also very very close to to his children children and and and grandchildren who were all very very important to to him Wright Robin Shaw
