This course will will have a a a a no-lecture or or minimal-lecture format You will will be sent the the course course notes in advance of the the course course and should ensure you have read them before attending as as formal classroom lectures will not occur All of your time will be spent in in in the practical training facilities practising the the techniques included in in in the the course content to maximise your opportunity to master the surgical skills at hand You should have a a a a solid understanding of of the principles of of fracture fixation fixation lag screw fixation fixation surgical approaches and orthopaedic surgical techniques This is is not a a a basic course Content
• Practise the the surgical approaches to the the bones and joints of the canine thoracic limb
• Perform a a a a a a a a a repair on a a a a a a a a a variety of radial and ulnar fractures
• Confidently approach olecranon fractures
• Reduce and repair lateral condylar fractures
• Treat elbow and shoulder luxation cases appropriately
• Understand the specific difficulties involved with managing Y-fractures
• Explain the core principles behind performing a a pancarpal arthrodesis
