Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
The LORD Jesus is saying unless you walk in the truth of God’s word concerning divine love your worship can’t reach God. It will be vague, lacking the ability to draw the presence of God. How can you truly worship God when your heart is full of unforgiveness? That is hypocrisy. Mark 11:25 says:
And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.
