Social Media Campaign 2019
Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter’s Target 5, Refugee in America Assistance Program, launched the 2019 social media campaign to highlight issues, days of recognition, and social issue globally. Each month, a day of observance designated by the United Nations was picked and posted to the social media sites of the chapter, shared and reposted by chapter members and the community. The days selected, typically were in direct relation to human rights, plight of people of color, and women’s issues. The yearly schedule can be found below.
Feb 21 - International Mother Language Day
Mar 25 - International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade
Apr 7 - International Day of Reflection on the Genocide in Rwanda
May 16 - World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development
Jun 20 - World Refugee Day
Jul 18 - Nelson Mandela International Day
Aug 19 – World Humanitarian Day
Sep 21 - International Day of Peace
Oct 17 - International Day for the Eradication of Poverty Nov 25 – International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women
Dec 31 – 100th Anniversary of The International Labour Organization
