RE/MAX COMMERCIAL CONNECTION
For new RE/MAX Broker/Owner Ellen Mahoney, opening a commercial office was the perfect next step in her career. Ellen has an extensive background in the commercial real estate arena. She worked as a commercial real estate paralegal for several prominent law firms and spent four years working for a major developer of a resort community in which she oversaw the brokerage along with sales and acquisitions. In addition, Ellen spent several years developing the commercial division for a major title company. She explained, “I have always known that I wanted to get more involved with a commercial brokerage, so after spending several years developing the commercial division for a title company, it became quite apparent to me that this was a great direction for me to take in terms of my career.”
With her extensive knowledge of commercial real estate from both a legal, title and escrow perspective, Ellen approached Magnus Sublett, CEO and Regional Owner, about opening a commercial franchise. “Magnus was very enthusiastic and I feel that rather than starting a business from the ground up, with RE/MAX I already have an infrastructure, great support from the region, number one brand awareness, and technology,” explained Ellen.
RE/MAX Commercial Connection will serve two locations, one in Detroit and one in Birmingham. Ellen has good reason for choosing these locations. She explained, “I am aware of the level of activity and potential going into the future for the city of Detroit and its real estate market. Having lived and worked in the Birmingham area for most of my adult life, I know that the location is highly desirable and it is where so many of my professional connections are located.”
