LAPA MOVES TO NEW OFFICES, INTRODUCES THE 2017-2018 FELLOWS, WELCOMES FACULTY-IN-RESIDENCE AND VISITORS
LAPA’s new o ces location may be proof of the maxim
plus ca change, plus ca la meme chose (the more things change, the more they stay the same) since we have returned to our original location in Wallace Hall. This time, however, our o ce speaks to the distance LAPA has travelled in becoming the home multidisciplinary legal inquiry at Princeton.
LAPA continues to a ract legal scholars from accross the globe, selecting six distinguished individuals working on a variety of original research projects from a pool numbering more than 120 applicants. We have also added o ces allowing LAPA to host visitors as well as to welcome two eminent Princeton faculty members: Peter Brooks and Stan Katz to our community. We are also excited that we are able to “house” in the LAPA space both new and returning visitors.
Joining us this year as a post-doc is Logan Strother, who just received his Ph.D. from Cornell University as well as Indiana Law Professor and former Dean and LAPA Fellow, Fred Ammon.
We are also excited to host the Law Engaged Graduate Students, LAPA workshops, informal gatherings of fellows and friends, and even a precept for a law-related course in our new LAPA conference room.
In this issue we begin by introducing you to the people occupying the LAPA O ces this year. We invited our Fellows to share a description of their research, their LAPA expectations, or an excerpt of their work in progress. Professors Katz and Brooks contribute their thoughts on “residing” at LAPA. We also o er a pro les of two of LAPA’s current visitors.
