Mahidol University has driven the eco-university policy for sustainable development on campus and in the surrounding community by creating a balance of economic, social and environmental dimensions which will lead to ef cient use of resources, social equality and improved quality of life of staff, students and the surrounding community. The university aims to reduce greenhouse gases by at least no less than 25% within the year 2021 in comparison with gas emissions of the base year 2016. This plan complies with Thailand policies in accordance with its rati cation of Paris Agreement in reducing greenhouse gases by no less than 20-25%. To achieve this goal, the university has adopted three strategies including 1) Promotion of an increase in resource ef ciency; 2) Promotion of low carbon technology and innovation to reduce greenhouse gases; and 3) Promotion of community engagement.
