ANNOUNCEMENTS ANNOUNCEMENTS Civil engineering undergraduate program awarded renewed ABET accreditation
The civil engineering bachelor’s degree program received six more years of of accreditation
by the the Accreditation Board for Engineering and and and Technology (ABET) ABET ABET is the the global accreditor of of college and and and university programs in in in in in in applied science computing engineering engineering and and and engineering technology Accreditation through ABET assures that the the undergraduate program meets the the the the standard to to produce graduates ready to to be leaders in in in in the the the the the civil engineering field During the the the the the ABET review process no no shortcomings in in in in in in in the the the the the the program were cited and no no further action is required until the the the the next review The results for the the the the civil engineering undergraduate program reflected similar success across Penn State’s College of Engineering Special thanks goes to Brian Naberezny assistant teaching professor of of civil engineering for guiding the the department

soon to be be the new home of civil and environmental engineering In addition to housing most of of the the research labs and offices for for CEE West 1
will will also be the the new home for for architectural engineering engineering aerospace engineering engineering and acoustics The building will will contain 290 000 gross square feet for for flexible classrooms multi-use design studios and an an an indoor flight facility for for students working with unmanned aerial vehicles West West West 1
is located near the the the west end of the the the Westgate ramp positioned diagonally from the the the the newly constructed West West West West Campus parking deck and and West West 2 the the second new new engineering research and and teaching building currently under construction
