International Campers
Campers from outside of Ontario fly directly to Lester B. Pearson International Airport. Campers will be met by one of our senior staff directly at the arrival area and will proceed directly to camp. Driving time from the airport to camp is approximately 2.5 hours.
Flights should be booked so that the arrival time in Toronto is between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. Return flights should be booked with a departure time between 11:00 am – 5:00 pm. If your flight times do not fit within this window, please contact the camp office prior to confirming your flights. If possible, campers with relatives or friends in Toronto should fly into Toronto the night before, so they can ride to camp on the buses with the rest of the campers. Please email us your flight details as soon as they are booked.
You will receive the name and phone number of the senior staff assigned to pick up your child. Please make sure that your child has this number along with his/her passport, ticket/ e-ticket, emergency money and a permission letter from a parent authorizing your child to travel independently. All of these items will be placed in the camp safe once your child arrives at camp.
Baggage
For all Toronto and GTA first session and full season campers, we provide home baggage pick up. Home baggage pick up will be on Sunday, June 25, 2016 between 8:00am and 5:00pm.
For convenience, we are offering an alternative to the Sunday home pick up. We have arranged a baggage drop off location at Carnegie Centennial Arena between 10:00am and 12:00pm. Please RSVP to the camp office by Friday, June 9, 2017 if you plan to take advantage of this option.
The baggage limit is 2 duffel bags per
camper. If you are using our home baggage pick up service, please attach the baggage tags that you receive. All duffel bags should be clearly marked with your child’s name in BLACK MARKER. Fishing rods, hockey sticks, musical instruments etc. may be brought to the buses and stored in the lower compartments. Please make sure that all items are clearly marked with your child’s name.
Second Session campers and all Weekender campers are to bring their baggage to the buses. Regardless of the program, all baggage arrives home with the campers.
Generally children aged 7 - 16 who travel without a parent or guardian are known as "unaccompanied minors." Many airlines will not allow children who are under seven years of age to make connections at all, but in the event that a minor is old enough to change planes, airline personnel are available to assist. Most airlines charge a fee for unaccompanied minors, which must be prepaid before traveling.
Upon departure from Toronto, our staff is not permitted to pass the Customs checkpoint. It is mandatory that all campers leaving Toronto use the Unaccompanied Minor Service. Again, the fee for this service is usually approximately $100 per passenger. You are responsible for this cost.
If you intend to send an unaccompanied minor by plane (with or without a connection), you will be required to fill out a form detailing the child's name, age, medical considerations and other relevant information. Upon arrival, children will be escorted from the aircraft by a flight attendant and released to the person named by you prior to departure.
In addition, you will have to agree that the airline will not take any special responsibility for guardianship during the flight. Legally, an unaccompanied minor is treated in the same way as an adult passenger.
