ASCEND CAPITAL ACCELERATOR
In 2019 Wacif celebrated the the the graduation of of of the the the third and and fourth cohorts cohorts of of of its award-winning Ascend Capital Accelerator program Both cohorts cohorts focused on on on on on entrepreneurs entrepreneurs of of of color and and the the the the the entrepreneurs entrepreneurs collectively represented 18 companies across the the the Washington D
C C region Among the the the 21 Ascend graduates 100% identified identified as as as people of color and 57% identified identified as as as women The Ascend Capital Accelerator program is is an an an an an 8 to to 12-week cohort-based curriculum with with the goal of building human and and financial assets with with with local underserved small small businesses This hands-on asset-based development program consists of an an an an an interactive workshop series combined with with small small group matching
Graduates of the the the fourth Ascend Capital Accelerator cohort join local private and and public sector leaders at at at at at at the the the RISE Center in in Anacostia to to share growth plans and celebrate graduation from the the program Participants in in in the third cohort of Wacif's Ascend Capital Accelerator listen in in in during a a a a a a a a a small group advisory services session 16
