A potentially important trend seems to arise in Table 16-2. When asked if they have ever experience violence or trauma in any setting, five (71.4%) participants indicated that they had. At least indicated that they either had nightmares about the trauma, dwelled on it, were constantly on guard, watchful, or easily stressed, or (most alarmingly) felt numb and detached from other (n = 4: 57.1%). One participant even indicated that they had been physically hurt within 30 days of CCEP intake.
8.6.9 Section G: Social Connectedness
Section G posed questions pertaining to the participants’ social connectedness. Table 17 details each question in this section.
Encouragingly, all participants had attended a voluntary self-help group for recovery in the past thirty (30) days (Question 1). The number of days attended ranged from two to thirty. One participant attended a religious/faith-affiliated recovery self-help group (one time -- Question 2). Finally, two participants were involved in recovery support meetings other than the organizations described in Questions 1 and 2.
All participants responded that they had had interactions with family and/or friends in the past 30 days that were supportive of their recovery. When asked “To whom do you turn when you are
