After Rum- mel's arrival in Malmo, Ascheberg held public worship services twice a week in his home, which the "German congregation" attended in large numbers, and the large dining room at Adelgatan (see room number 3 in the 1699 floor plan of the Governor's Residence) was certainly used as a gathering place for these occasions. This arrangement continued until August 1, 1688, and during this time Rummel served as Asche- berg's chaplain. From August 1, 1688 to October 1, 1693, the German congregation's worship services were held in the hospital church on Rundelsgatan and from October 1, 1693, when the German Church
