Mark your calendars....It’s LongRun’s second annual gala on September 29, 2006 to be held under Woodbine’s Corporate Tent with this year’s theme being “A Golden Tribute” helping Woodbine Racetrack celebrate it 50th anniversary.
The nostalgic theme will honour all those horses that raced for our pleasure during Woodbine’s first half-century.
Already booked as the evening’s entertainment are Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe tribute artists, provided by Hollywood Heaven Look Alikes and Entertainment, specializing in Canada’s top celebrity look and sound alike performers.
Plan to arrive early as “Frank” and “Marilyn” will be available for photo opportunities during cocktail hour.
Chiefswood Stable’s Niigon is sponsoring the “Turf and Surf” plated din- ner, the open bar will be courtesy of Adena Spring’s Awesome Again, while Windfields Farm and David and Susan Willmot’s Whiskey Wisdom will be hosting an after dinner scotch bar (how appropriate!).
Silent and live auctions will be a part of what should be an exciting evening, graciously hosted once again by Jeff Bratt and Jason Portuondo. Auction items include a trip to Barbados, a hockey week- end in Montreal and a three day getaway at Pine Grove Resort.
Sponsorships are still available and auction items are greatly appreciated.
Last year’s LongRun Black and White Gala was a sell-out so be sure to buy your tickets or table early. Tickets are $250 a person or $2,000 for a table of eight.
